Job Opportunity – Inpatient Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist – Remote (U.S.)
Start Date: May 11, 2026
Location: Rochester, New York (100% Remote - work from anywhere in the U.S.)

Schedule: Monday through Friday, business hours (typically 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST)
Highlights:

- Focus on concurrent and retrospective review of inpatient clinical documentation to ensure coding accuracy and compliance
- Collaborate directly with physicians, nursing staff, case management, and coding teams to improve documentation quality
- Utilize advanced knowledge of pathophysiology, disease processes, and medications to identify documentation gaps
- Serve as an educator and change agent to enhance clinical documentation integrity across the organization
- Work with regulatory compliance standards for all health insurance plans and federal/state regulations
Requirements:
- CDIP (Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner) or CCDS (Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist) certification required
- RHIT, RHIA, RN, RRT, CCS, CCS-P, or MD credential required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical documentation integrity
- At least 12 months of current production experience in an ICDIS role
- Demonstrated experience with concurrent review of medical records in the inpatient setting
- Strong analytical thinking, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present concepts effectively to physicians and healthcare teams
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage flexible hours as needed
- High school diploma or GED required
