We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative (PSR) to join our growing team. Position Summary The Patient Service Representative serves as the primary liaison between patients, healthcare providers, insurance companies, and Hearts Enteral. This individual will be responsible for coordinating patient referrals, insurance verification, prior authorizations, order processing, and ongoing patient support. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, and experienced in healthcare administration, medical billing, or DME operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Receive and process referrals for enteral nutrition, metabolic formulas, medical foods, and DME products. Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage. Obtain and track prior authorizations from commercial insurance plans, Medicaid, and Medicare. Communicate with physicians, registered dietitians, case managers, and patients regarding documentation requirements. Coordinate patient onboarding and order fulfillment. Monitor recurring orders and ensure timely shipment of supplies. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation within company systems. Follow up on missing prescriptions, medical necessity documentation, and authorizations. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and caregivers. Collaborate with intake, billing, reimbursement, and clinical teams to ensure seamless patient care. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, accreditation standards, and payer requirements. Qualifications Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 3 years of customer service, healthcare administration, medical office, or insurance experience. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and time-management abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer-based systems. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred: Experience in Durable Medical Equipment (DME), Home Medical Equipment (HME), enteral nutrition, infusion, or specialty pharmacy. Knowledge of insurance verification and prior authorization processes. Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans. Experience working with medical records and healthcare documentation.
