The Executive Director of Revenue Cycle provides strategic, operational, and financial leadership for all revenue cycle functions across the hospital, affiliated physician practice network and related joint venture entities. This role is responsible for optimizing performance in patient access, charging, coding, clinical documentation, billing, collections, and revenue integrity to ensure accurate reimbursement, regulatory compliance, and a positive patient financial experience. The Executive Director works directly with Outsourced end-to-end Revenue Cycle Partner to develop policies and procedures, optimize processes and troubleshoot issues. Partners closely with senior executives, Physicians and Physician practice staff, finance, hospital operations, and payor contracting to drive system-wide alignment and continuous improvement.
Requirements
Experience
8–10+ years of progressive revenue cycle leadership experience, including management across both hospital and physician practice settings.
Bachelor’s degree required
Experience with oversight of Outsourced Revenue Cycle Partner preferred.
Demonstrated success improving revenue cycle KPIs at a complex health system or multi-site organization.
Experience with major EHR/RCM platforms (Epic preferred; Allscripts/Altera, Cerner, Meditech, Athena, NextGen also relevant).
Strong understanding of value-based payment models, regulatory requirements, and payer contracting strategies.
